Thanks to the increasing availability of safe aesthetic procedures, an increasing number of people are hair free, wrinkle free, cellulite free, etc. Unfortunately, there is a measure of discomfort associated with post aesthetic treatments and many patients are left with some level of skin irritation for up to several hours, if not days, after a treatment has been performed. Zcalm™ was created in response to patients’ need to reduce redness and inflammation and for fast healing and soothing pain relief.
During an aesthetic procedure, laser light passes through the skin, and whether it be for hair removal, skin rejuvenation, etc., the laser causes injury to the epidermis at the contact site as it produces the desired effects. After receiving a laser treatment, the skin can be visibly red and inflamed, sometimes accompanied by an itching or burning sensation.
Laser treatment centers commonly apply 100% aloe vera gel to the treatment area in order to soothe the skin after a laser procedure. And while 100% aloe gel does soothe the skin, on its own it does nothing to promote healing and its effects quickly wear off.
Zcalm’s natural ingredients include aloe for its soothing properties, however the proprietary blend of botanical extracts are among what separates Zcalm from all the rest. In addition to providing comforting pain relief, ingredients such as chamomile, calendula and comfrey contain therapeutic properties that immediately work to reduce redness and irritation
Zcalm’s formula takes the recovery process one step farther—the unique inclusion of ProElements™, such as magnesium, copper and zinc peptides, promotes wound healing and rapid recovery of the skin. Additional beneficial properties of ProElements™ include firming of the skin and the reduction/reversal of oxidative stress.
Zcalm can be used in the doctor’s office directly following a procedure and may be taken home for at-home treatment of irritated, burning or stinging skin. Zcalm is also great for use on sensitive skin to relieve itching or burning associated with chronic dry skin, sunburn, razor burn, windburn, minor household burns, etc.
For use after aesthetic procedures (laser hair removal, laser skin resurfacing, electrolysis, etc.):
1. If
necessary, cleanse area with water to remove excess treatment applications. Do
not use products containing alcohol or astringents.
2. Apply a generous layer of
Zcalm™ immediately following the procedure to relieve redness and inflammation
and to promote faster healing of laser treated skin.
3. For added comfort, reapply
every 1-3 hours until redness and inflammation have subsided. Continue use for
several days to soothe and rejuvenate laser treated skin. If burning or redness
persists more than 24 hours after the procedure, call you clinic or consult your
physician.
NOTE: With continued applications, the powerful skin revitalizing ingredients in Zcalm have longer lasting effects and will gradually provide lengthening periods of relief as Zcalm aids the skin in the healing process.
For use on dry skin or minor irritations and burns (i.e. chronic dry skin, sunburn, razor burn, etc.)
1. If
necessary, cleanse area with water prior to application of Zcalm. Do not use
products containing alcohol or astringents.
2. Apply a generous layer of
Zcalm to the affected area and allow to dry.
3. For added comfort, reapply
every 1-3 hours or as needed until redness and inflammation have subsided.
Continue use for several days to soothe and rejuvenate irritated skin. If
irritation and discomfort do not improve with the use of this product during the
first 24 hours of use, contact your physician.

Is Zcalm™ a drug? Does it
require a prescription?
No. Zcalm is not a drug and does not require a prescription. Zcalm contains
extremely mild ingredients, including botanicals and ProElements™, which are
known for their soothing and healing properties. (ProElements™ is a blend of
magnesium, copper and zinc peptides and is a trademark of Mel-Co®, Indio, CA.)
Why is Zcalm superior to
100% aloe vera gel or other burn relief products?
While 100% aloe vera gel and other competitive products do contain soothing
properties, the skin is left to heal itself all on its own. Zcalm’s ingredients
do include aloe for its soothing properties, however Zcalm’s proprietary
combination of calming botanical extracts and ProElements™ optimize healing
potential.
Zcalm is specially formulated for people receiving aesthetic procedures. We realize that laser treatment causes a very different type of “injury” to the skin, so we formulated Zcalm to specifically address the need to reduce redness and inflammation and promote rapid healing. What’s more, Zcalm doesn’t use numbing drug ingredients that may ultimately add to skin irritation. Zcalm’s healing agents aid your skin in the natural healing process instead of just reducing discomfort.
What are ProElements™?
ProElements™ are metal peptide solutions that include the trace elements copper,
magnesium and zinc. These metals, in their simple ionic form, do not penetrate
well into the skin. However when these elements are purified into low molecular
weight metal peptide complexes, they are rapidly absorbed by the skin. Copper,
magnesium and zinc, promote wound healing, increase the antioxidant capacity of
human skin, increase rejuvenating enzymes in the skin and play a role in
reducing (and reversing) oxidative stress.
When should I apply Zcalm?
It is recommended to apply Zcalm immediately following an aesthetic treatment.
Zcalm may be reapplied every 1-3 hours (or as needed) until redness and
inflammation has subsided. You may continue to use Zcalm for several days
following the procedure to revitalize and soothe the skin. Keep in mind that if
post laser conditions and discomfort do not improve with the use of this product
during the first 24 hours of use, contact your laser clinic or call your
physician.
How long does one bottle
last?
The 4 oz (120 gram) Zcalm “tottle” contains enough Zcalm to provide for any
aesthetic treatment. Zcalm may be stored for up to a year from the time it is
opened, so it may be used for successive aesthetic treatments or at home for dry
or irritated skin conditions, sunburns, razor burn, etc.
How should Zcalm be
stored?
Zcalm should be stored at room temperature (59-86o F). Keep container tightly
closed. Remaining product should be discarded after the expiration date.
How often can I use Zcalm?
While Zcalm is strong enough to restore laser “wounded” skin, it is also gentle
enough to be used as much as needed on a daily basis. Zcalm may safely be
reapplied every 1-3 hours, or as needed, to reduce redness and inflammation and
relieve discomfort. However, if post laser conditions and discomfort do not
improve with the use of this product during the first 24 hours of use, contact
your laser clinic or call your physician.
Can Zcalm be used on
children?
Zcalm may be used to treat small, minor skin irritations in children. Do not use
Zcalm on children under the age of 6 without first consulting a physician.
How long will Zcalm’s
effects last?
Zcalm’s effects will be different for everyone depending on the individual and
the intensity of the procedure received. All users should experience some degree
of immediate relief that lasts for several hours. With continued applications,
the powerful skin revitalizing ingredients in Zcalm have longer lasting effects
and will gradually provide lengthening periods of relief as Zcalm aids the skin
in the healing process.
What precautions should I
take when using Zcalm?
Zcalm™ is indicated for external use only. Avoid contact with eyes. Do not use
over open wounds.
What else is Zcalm used
for?
In addition to being used following aesthetic procedures, Zcalm may be used to
soothe chronic dry skin and relieve discomfort associated with sunburn, razor
burn, windburn, minor household burns, etc.
